Incase of an administrator account try rebooting the pc in DOS. access C:\Windows\system32\config\sam . Rename SAM as SAM.mj
Now XP wont ask for password next time You Login. Also
Go to the cmd prompt .
Type net user *.
It will list all the users.
Again type net user "administrator" or the name of the administrator "name" *.
e.g.: net user aaaaaa *(where aaaaaa is the name).
It will ask for the password.
Type the password and there you are done.
Logging In As Administrator:
Hold the Ctrl-Alt key and press Del twice. This will bring up the normal login and you can log on as Administrator.
To unhide the Administrator account so it does show up:
Start Regedit
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon \ SpecialAccounts \ UserList
Unhide the Administrator key by giving it a value of 1

How to disable Windows XP Boot logo
How to disable Windows XP Boot logo
It is possible to disable the XP splash screen, which will slightly speed up the overall boot process. Be aware that removing the splash screen will also cause you not to see any boot-up messages that might come up (chkdsk, convert … ), but if your system runs without any problems then it should not matter.
Edit boot.ini.
Add ” /noguiboot” right after “/fastdetect”.
Upon restarting, the splash screen will be gone. It can be re-enabled by removing the new switch.

Disable Windows XP login prompt
Disable Windows XP login prompt
Too tired of logging on every time you turn on your personal computer? The good news is, you can disable the logon prompt and have Windows go straight to your desktop. However, this only works for home computers, which are usually not a member of any domain. In particular, the trick only works for local user accounts.
Now, the question might come up: Why do I need to do this while I can just delete my password? Setting a password for your account increases the security level of your PC. So it is a good practice to configure your account with a strong password, but you don't have to logon every single time by applying this trick.
Some people might get more curious: If I don't have to enter my password to login, that just means everyone can login to my PC? Not really, it is only true if someone comes to your PC, physically turns it on and uses it. Other than that, any access to your PC (i.e. via network, internet, etc...) would be restricted if no/incorrect password is provided.
Steps:
From Desktop, Click on "Start" >> "Run".
Then type in "control userpasswords2" and press Enter.
Select your user account from the list.
Uncheck the box for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."
Click "Apply" and "Ok".
You'll be prompted for password, enter your password and you're all done!.

While surfing the internet we happen to come across several links that are important and want to either send it to some friend of ours or embed it somewhere but if the link is too long, which is usually the case; we can make it shorter by using the link shortening sites like TinyURL.
The advantage of using TinyURL is of course the link shortening service but the limitation of using services like these is that we can’t know what URL is the link being redirected to before clicking on it. This could be dangerous as some link might redirect to some harmful sites as well.
Solution to this problem is provided by the site called Untiny which can reveal the actual URL hidden behind the TinyURL coded link. The service is currently in the Beta version and is free of cost. You don’t need to install anything for that just go to their homepage which is http://untiny.me and enter the TinyURL link, click Extract and you can see the actual link that would have opened otherwise.

If you have used Windows for quite some time now then you must have seen this folder called RECYCLER. But many people don’t know what this folder is and what is it doing in the drive?
What is Recycler folder?
The Recycler folder is used only on NTFS partitions and is referred to as a location where all the deleted files go after they have been deleted by the user. Now you may be wondering if it contains the deleted files then why we have the Recycle Bin.
When a file is deleted it goes to the Recycle Bin but when the Recycle Bin is emptied, the files are stored in this Recycler folder. This is the reason why we can still restore the deleted data in the Windows.
Difference between Recycle Bin and Recycler
Recycle Bin stores the file that are deleted from the computer until it is emptied completely whereas the Recycler folder contains a Recycle Bin for each user that logs on to the computer. (MS article)
Recycled Folder
This is something different than the Recycler folder as Recycled is same as Recycle Bin. That is both Recycled and Recycle Bin are just two different names for the same memory location.
How to delete Recycler Folder
Recycler is a read only folder and that is why it gave error if you tried to delete it. To view the folder, go to Tools -> Folder Options -> View tab and uncheck the option of Hide Protected operating System Files.
Now just right click on the folder, go to Properties and unselect the option of Read Only. Now it can be deleted.
Recycler Virus
There has been identified a virus with the same name that is Recycler.exe which should not be confused with the Recycler folder.
